The first two days will feature in-person TIE courses, including specialized offerings typically available exclusively online. This rare opportunity allows participants to learn directly from TIE faculty in a collaborative, hands-on environment, translating theory into practice through experiential learning, discussion, and creative exploration.

The Symposium will also feature a keynote speaker whose work offers fresh perspectives and inspires critical conversations about the future of consent-based performance, artistic practice, and our collective responsibility as educators and practitioners.

The final day will celebrate our community's knowledge and creativity through participant-led presentations. Attendees can share original research, innovative teaching practices, artistic explorations, case studies, and emerging methodologies. These presentations foster dialogue, encourage interdisciplinary exchange, and recognize practitioners' valuable contributions at every stage of their professional journeys.

Join Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE) in Italy for an immersive international gathering celebrating professional development, artistic exploration, and community.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Accademia dell’Arte, the Symposium brings together artists, educators, intimacy professionals, and scholars for three days of engaging educational programming, meaningful collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Your Symposium tuition includes four nights of shared accommodations at the Accademia dell’Arte villa, meals, all Symposium programming, and special cultural experiences.

Symposium Tuition & Registration

Early Bird Registration — $1,999

To secure the Early Bird rate, we must receive your registration and deposit by January 15, 2027. We will apply your deposit to your total tuition, and we will invoice the remaining balance separately.

Regular Registration — $2,499

• Deposit Due at Registration: $749

• Remaining Balance: $1,750

All remaining tuition balances are due May 1, 2027.

Special Combination Package: TIE Three-Day Intensive + International Symposium

Want to make the most of your time in Italy? Extend your learning experience by attending both the TIE Three-Day In-Person Intensive (August 1–3, 2027) and the TIE International Symposium (August 3–7, 2027).

This special combination offers three additional days of intensive, hands-on professional training before transitioning into the Symposium's collaborative environment of learning, research, and artistic exchange.

Early Bird Combination Package — $3,889

We must receive registration and deposit by January 15, 2027.

Regular Combination Package — $4,389

Applies to registrations received after January 15, 2027.

Important Registration Information: Participants wishing to attend both events should register through the TIE Three-Day Intensive registration page and submit their deposit there to secure the applicable combination package rate.

What's Included in Your Symposium Tuition?

• Three Days of Symposium Programming: Two days of interactive, in-person TIE courses, including specialized courses typically offered exclusively online, a keynote presentation, and a final day dedicated to participant-led presentations, research, and creative exchange.

• Four Nights of Accommodations: Shared housing at the Accademia dell’Arte villa, arriving August 3 and departing August 7.

• Meals Included: Meals throughout the Symposium, including a special Welcome Dinner on August 3 and a Farewell Dinner on August 6.

• On-Site Medical Care: Access to on-site medical care during the Symposium. Participants are required to obtain their own travel insurance.

• Italian Cultural Experience: A hands-on gelato-making class offering a fun, delicious way to connect with fellow participants while experiencing a beloved Italian tradition.

Travel & Transportation

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own travel to and from the Symposium. Tuition does not include airfare, train tickets, airport transfers, or other transportation expenses.

Participants should plan to arrive at Accademia dell’Arte on August 3, 2027, and depart on August 7, 2027.

All participants are responsible for obtaining the necessary travel documents, meeting applicable entry requirements, and securing travel insurance for the duration of their stay.

Registration is limited to ensure an engaging, collaborative, and community-centered experience. We encourage you to reserve your place early!

Registration, Payment & Cancellation Policy

A deposit is required at registration to reserve your place and secure your tuition rate. All deposits are applied toward your total tuition cost, and the remaining balance is due May 1, 2027.

Cancellation and Refund Terms:

• On or Before March 15, 2027: Participants who cancel their registration by March 15, 2027, are eligible for a refund of 50% of their deposit. The remaining 50% is nonrefundable.

• After March 15, 2027: All payments are nonrefundable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after this date.

Because TIE makes advance financial commitments to Accademia dell’Arte to secure accommodations, facilities, and programming, these cancellation and refund terms are necessary to support the planning and delivery of the Symposium.

By registering, participants acknowledge and agree to these cancellation and refund terms. We strongly encourage all participants to review the policy carefully before completing their registration.
