Staging choreographed combat and staging intimacy share similar techniques, but they also differ in significant ways. This workshop builds on TIE’s Consent and Boundary practices and skills learned from the Best Practices and Intimacy Choreography for Theatre workshops. Attendees will learn the background and basic best practices for stage combat and how to approach pre-production, rehearsal staging, performance, and documentation. Each participant will walk away with a better understanding of how to efficiently stage formalized, repeatable violence choreography mixed with pedestrian intimacy movement while respecting boundaries.

Space in Digital Workshops is limited to ensure the best experience for our participants. Workshops are live; we do not currently offer recordings. Classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and class sizes are limited to ensure educational quality.
