Friday, May 24th, 2024
10am-5pm Eastern Time (New York)

One Day: Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Los Angeles, CA

The Intimacy Coordination Lab is a one day session that will clarify the scope of the Intimacy Coordinator’s responsibilities, offer transparency, and build confidence. Participants can put their knowledge into practice through role-plays and group discussions.

Facilitators will offer scenarios and guiding questions for ICs of all experience levels to work through in small groups.  Professional actors will join the workshops for participants to work with. The day will include a simulated process for preparation, shooting the scene, and post production.

This engaged space is designed to build collective knowledge, encourage one another, and find solutions to common issues that may come up at any stage of the process. All are welcome, regardless of experience level. No prerequisites are required.

Participants are responsible for securing their own travel, food, and lodging. One week prior to the workshop, participants will receive an email with parking information, nearby food options, and all of the other workshop-specific information. If you have questions in the meantime, reach out

After you complete your registration, you will receive an email with additional information and helpful links. You will receive an email with the link one day prior to the workshop.

The Best Practices Digital Workshop or a comprehensive TIE workshop (i.e. Workshop Weekend) is a pre-requisite for most other Theatrical Intimacy Education Digital Workshops. This ensures that all participants are conversant in TIE's specific approach and vocabulary to ensure educational quality for all participants. If you have taken another workshop with Theatrical Intimacy Education and would like to chat about which Digital Workshops may be right for you, reach out!

Masks and any other PPE are always welcome in TIE spaces.

As part of our continued effort to keep workshops accessible and to mitigate the risk of COVID-19, participants acknowledge that TIE may choose to require the following as the workshop date approaches:

  • Take a Rapid Antigen Test (Provided) at check-in on day 1 of their Workshop Weekend and/or

  • Wear a high-quality mask (n-95, KN-95, or equivalent) for the duration of the workshop (extras will be provided) and/or

  • Complete a symptom tracking form and confirm that you are free of COVID-19 symptoms and/or

  • Upload proof of full COVID-19 vaccination including any recommended boosters to a link provided within 7 days of registration and again two weeks before the workshop and/or

  • Participate in any other CDC or local government recommended risk mitigation.

If you cannot attend the Workshop Weekend due to a COVID-19 diagnosis or exposure, you will receive a credit worth 50% of your paid registration cost for future workshops. If you choose not to participate in required mitigation as recommended by local, state, or federal health officials, you will be eligible for credit worth 50% of your paid registration cost for future workshops.

Curriculum Overlap

This workshop covers much of the same material covered in TIE’s Best Practices and Theatrical Studio Techniques Digital Workshops (and so much more!). Participants who have attended a Workshop Weekend after completing both digital workshops have shared that they learned an enormous amount from the hands-on learning, activities, Q&A sessions, and real-time feedback!

There is no pre-requisite for a TIE Workshop Weekend and this workshop satisfies the Best Practices/Workshop Weekend pre-requisite requirement for other TIE workshops.

Transfers/ Exchanges for Credit

If TIE postpones or cancels the workshop, all participants will receive their full registration cost paid to TIE as credit towards future workshops or registration credit for a future Workshop Weekend.

In all other circumstances, TIE does not offer refunds for workshops. If you are unable to attend, you may request an exchange for credit or a transfer to another workshop 14-days prior to the workshop weekend for a small administrative fee. We are unable to honor requests made within 14 days of in-person workshops. Click here to begin the transfer or exchange process.

TIE does not offer refunds.
